Charles Messier (1730 – 1817)
Charles Messier is best known for his famous catalogue of Messier objects. But he made many other contributions to astronomy, in spite of the fact that he had a very difficult life. Carmen will talk about the life and accomplishments of this remarkable man.
Carmen Rush is a retired high school math teacher who has been a member of the RASC Ottawa Centre since 1984. She enjoys researching the lives of famous and not-so-famous astronomers and has given numerous talks on the history of astronomy to the Ottawa Centre.
