Just Passing Through
The seemingly unrelated sprinkling of stars in the sky is not all so random, it turns out. Not only clusters and associations comprise stellar families. Many of the general field stars are also found to be related, in dispersed streams which were formerly clusters or associations. Glenn will detail a few such overlapping stellar streams we just happen to be traveling through.
Glenn LeDrew kicked off his journey to the stars at age 13, using a toy 40mm refractor. After a couple of decades exploring a good deal of what's there to see using more capable equipment, he yearned to place into context those long familiar, formerly isolated objects. The result is an ever more fleshed out mental map of our corner of the Galaxy.
